Applications

No exhaust pipe. No diesel smell. Rex Nordic diesel infrared heaters deliver powerful, efficient heating for large spaces using clean-burning technology that eliminates every downside of traditional diesel heating.

Our advanced triple combustion process burns fuel so cleanly that over 99% of the exhaust is harmless CO2 and water vapor. This means odorless, smoke-free operation — perfect for warehouses, workshops, construction sites and agricultural buildings where air quality matters most.

With heating capacities from 44,000 to 75,000 BTU/h (13–22 kW) while consuming just 0.25–0.58 gallons of fuel per hour, these heaters provide exceptional value for large spaces up to 70,600 ft³ (2,000 m³) where electric power is limited or expensive. The ceramic-coated heat exchangers operate quietly at only 48 dB while distributing infrared heat evenly in all directions.

Rex Nordic heaters run on standard #2 diesel or renewable diesel (HVO/R99), raising indoor temperatures up to 104 °F even in extreme cold. Available in three sizes with a 2-year warranty that extends to 3 years when you register online.

Frequently asked questions about Rex Nordic diesel heaters

How does a Rex Nordic diesel heater work?

Rex Nordic heaters use a patented oil burner with an electric fuel pump. Combustion gases circulate through ceramic-coated pipelines inside the unit, generating infrared (radiant) heat that warms objects and people directly rather than just heating the air. This makes them highly efficient in draughty or open environments.

Does the heater require a flue or exhaust pipe?

No. Complete combustion inside the unit means no separate exhaust piping is required in most working environments such as garages, workshops, warehouses, marquees, and terraces. Exhaust piping is only necessary if the heater is to be used in sleeping quarters or spaces with very limited ventilation.

What fuel does the Rex Nordic heater use?

Use standard #2 diesel or renewable diesel (HVO/R99). Below 50 °F (10 °C), switch to winter-grade diesel to prevent fuel gelling and ensure reliable ignition.

How loud is the heater during operation?

Rex Nordic heaters operate at approximately 48 dB, which is comparable to a quiet office or normal conversation. They are designed to be unobtrusive in working environments.

What safety systems does the heater have?

Rex Nordic heaters are equipped with automatic shut-off systems that activate if the unit overheats, tips over, or detects a fault. Units sold in the US and Canada are cETLus-listed for North America.

What happens after a power outage?

After a power outage, the heater restarts automatically in the same operating mode it was in before the power cut. All settings are stored in non-volatile flash memory, so no manual re-programming is needed.

Can I control the heater remotely?

Yes. Rex Nordic heaters feature an LED control panel and a remote control as standard. WiFi-enabled models can also be controlled via the Rex Nordic App (available for Android and iOS), allowing you to adjust temperature and settings from anywhere within range.

What is the fuel consumption of Rex Nordic heaters?

Fuel consumption varies by model and heat setting. As a guide at full output: the AH-210i uses about 0.25 gal/h, the AH-310i about 0.30 gal/h, and the AH-810i 0.50–0.58 gal/h. The thermostat cycles the burner once your space is at temperature, so real-world consumption is typically lower. Refer to the product manual for full data.

Is there any odour during operation?

A mild odour may occur during the initial start-up and shut-down cycle due to brief periods of incomplete fuel atomisation. This is normal and not hazardous. During steady operation, a properly maintained Rex Nordic heater produces no noticeable odour.

Does the heater require annual maintenance?

Yes. Annual maintenance is mandatory for the warranty to remain valid on Rex Nordic heaters. This service includes replacing the oil filter, nozzle, and gaskets. Rex Nordic recommends using authorized service partners. Maintenance kits and spare parts are available from our North American warehouses.

What warranty is provided?

Rex Nordic heaters come with a standard 2-year warranty. Register your product at warranty.rexnordic.com within four weeks of purchase to extend your warranty to 3 years free of charge. Note that annual maintenance is a condition for warranty validity.

Where can I get spare parts?

Genuine spare parts are stocked in our Denver, Detroit, Calgary and Toronto warehouses and available through authorized dealers across the US and Canada. Contact our team or visit the Service & Spare Parts page to place an order.
