Flower-friendly Rex Nordic AH-310i solves a greenhouse heating problem

Three years ago, a garden centre needed a better way to keep its premises warm and its flowers happy. The gas heater wasn't working out, so they chose the diesel-powered Rex Nordic AH-310i instead.

The garden has a smaller store section and a larger greenhouse — about 16 ft wide and 100 ft long in total. They started with one heater, quickly added a second for the store, and have since bought a third. “We've been very pleased with these infrared heaters. Two run constantly and the third when needed. On the greenhouse side we hold just under 50 °F, and in the store 55–57 °F,” says store manager Aki Lahtinen.

“Cost-wise, I can say it's much cheaper than gas heaters.”

The AH-310i keeps things comfortable and the flowers happy. It's almost odorless and produces carbon dioxide, which is welcome in a greenhouse. The 51,000 BTU/h (15 kW) output is just right, and low fuel use brings the cost efficiency they wanted. Staff don't have to worry about it — just refuel and let it work.

The AH-310i suits spaces like this well: it moves easily, needs no exhaust pipe, and is almost odorless and silent. Infrared radiation heats the materials rather than the air, and with no fan, dust and contaminants don't rise from the floor.

All in all, the garden has been very satisfied. Set the thermostat to the temperature you want and everyone can focus on the essentials.
