A machinery dealer specialising in construction, agriculture and property-maintenance equipment bought a Rex Nordic AH-810i to heat its workshop hall about two and a half years ago, and it's been in heavy use ever since.
The hall is 16–20 ft high and about 1,600 ft², and working machines are washed there year-round. At worst, a foot and a half of snow can pile up on wheel loaders and tractors in winter when they're driven in for washing.
“It only takes about three hours to melt a large amount of snow and ice away. The heater is working hard at that point, but it does it superbly,” says the workshop's operator.
They previously used hot-air blowers, which were prone to getting dirty. The Rex Nordic AH-810i has no such issue. The diesel-powered infrared heater runs continuously in the cold season and burns about 210 gallons of fuel a year — in genuinely heavy use.
